“The value of life can be measured by how many times your soul has been deeply stirred, and it is knowledge, through education, that stirs one’s soul.”

While education is defined as the process of learning and gaining knowledge, skills, values, and beliefs its impact on creating equality and eliminating barriers and discrimination is worthy of note. How a nation progresses greatly depends on the availability of the basic right to education to its citizens.

10th December is considered and celebrated across the world as Human Rights Day. The most important among the list of human rights is the right to receive free and compulsory education- the Right to Education.

India first passed an Act in the parliament on 4th August 2009, recognizing the Right to Education for all the citizens in India as the Right of children to free and compulsory Education Act, or the Right to Education Act (RTE). With the recognition of the Right to Education in India, India went on to become one of the 135 other countries to recognize education as a fundamental right for every child.

The right also includes a responsibility for the country to provide basic education for individuals who have not completed their primary education yet. Apart from this, the right encompasses an obligation to avoid any form of discrimination at all levels of the educational system in a country, to set a minimum standard, and to improve the overall quality of education in the country.

At Cuemath we believe that every student has the right to learn math the right way, understanding the Why behind the What of math concepts. Nurturing the naturally curious minds of our country by providing them access to a system of math learning that goes beyond the four walls of a school classroom is how Cuemath students learn the fundamentals of math. This helps children prepare themselves for a future that will be greatly dependent on technology and math by developing a new generation of problem solvers, changing the country one mind at a time.
