Puzzle solution P1

Reading Time: 1 minutes

Of course it is possible to have one apple remaining in the basket.

Let’s revisit the question:

You have a basket containing 10 apples. You have 10 friends – you give each of them one apple. Now all your friends have one apple each but there is still an apple remaining in the basket. How is this possible?

The question is actually quite simple but makes us think in very complicated ways. However, let’s look at the elegant answer here.

After giving 9 apples to 9 friends, give the 10th friend the basket WITH the 10th apple in it.

Aren’t you smiling about the fact that you didn’t think of it this way?

Congratulations if you got the correct answer!
