What the STAAR Grade 6 Math Test Really Measures

The Grade 6 STAAR Math test measures much more than basic arithmetic. It focuses on skills such as:

Ratios, rates and proportional reasoning
Fractions, decimals and percent conversions
Geometry and measurement
Data interpretation and graphs
Algebraic expressions and simple equations

Students either “Meet Grade Level” or “Master Grade Level” with their exceptional command over concepts and readiness for success in the next grade.
