Tips for board exams
Let us go through some tips for board exams that will help your child do well:
- Previous years' question papers: Practicing with previous years' question papers is necessary to prepare for the upcoming board exams. It gives you an idea about what types of questions are being asked in the exam.
You should try the questions yourself and then look at the solutions provided and check the difference between your approach and the solution. Try to simulate the exam environment while solving the previous year's papers. Also, keep a close eye on how the solution is being presented.
The neat and proper presentation of the answer is necessary to build a good impression with the evaluator.
- Planning and Timetable: You will most probably suffer in your exams if you don't have a proper plan to approach the board exams. You should make a suitable timetable for your study plan and divide your time according to your strength and weaknesses in various subjects and the number of days left for the exams.
Also, allocate time for solving the previous year question papers and design a regular revision plan, which will help you revisit and retain the topics that you have already completed.
- Follow the syllabus: It is very crucial to stick strictly to the defined syllabus for the board exams.
Stay away from trying new and extra tough questions that are not part of the syllabus or prescribed textbook because it will just waste your time and may ruin your frame of mind if you aren't able to solve those questions.
- Say NO to fear and anxiety: It is normal to feel nervous and anxious when board exams are approaching but does not let that fear and anxiety of exams take over your mind as it can degrade your performance. Try to stay calm and believe in your preparation.
Religiously sticking to your study plan will boost your confidence over time, and your anxiety will go away as your preparation becomes more and more concrete.
- Healthy lifestyle: Following a healthy lifestyle improves your physical and mental health and makes you more productive. Try exercising once a day for at least 15 minutes, and you can also play high-intensity sports like football, badminton, basketball, tennis, etc.
Eat healthy foods, avoid fast foods ad meditate for a few minutes in the day. Take regular short breaks from your study and spend quality time with your family and friends.
