Solid Shapes

Introduction

In geometry, we come across two kinds of shapes. These are plane shapes and solid shapes.

A plane shape is two-dimensional in nature. The two dimensions are the sides or the edges and the corners or the vertices. The measurements associated with plane shapes are its area and perimeter

A solid shape is three-dimensional in nature. We will learn more about these shapes in the next segment.

Learn about the area of plane shapes.

Know about the perimeter of plane shapes.

Solid Shapes

A solid shape is also known as a 3D Shape. The three dimensions are the width, the depth, and the height. The measurements associated with solid shapes are its surface area and volume.

Examples of solid shapes

Cuboid

Cube

Right circular cylinder

Right Circular Cone

Sphere
