In this chapter, we will go through the concepts of perimeter and areas of different types of triangles and quadrilaterals. This will include the formulae and proofs of several equations for different types of triangles and quadrilaterals along with some examples and a practise exercise questions at the end. Specifically, it is shown how the area of a triangle can be calculated using its sides and its semi-perimeter. In addition, Heron’s formula is also covered as a way of finding the area of a triangle. With regards to finding the area of quadrilaterals, simpler cases such as square, rectangle and parallelogram are taken up first.
