On multiplying both sides by \(3x\), we obtain

\[\begin{align}8x - 3 = 6x \\8x - 6x = 3 \\\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,2x = 3 \\\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,x = \frac{3}{2} \\\end{align} \]
