Ex 5.1 | Question 6

## Text Solution

**Reasoning:**

We know that when equals are subtracted from equals, the remainders are equal.

**Steps:**

\[\begin{align} AC & = BD \\ AB + BC & = BC + CD \end{align}\]

[ Point \(B\) lies between \(A\) and \(C\) point \(C\) lies between \(B\) and \(D\).]

\[\begin{align} AB + BC - BC & = BC + CD - BC \\ AB & = CD\end{align}\]
