Read the Story on The Hare and the Tortoise with Illustrations
Once upon a time, there lived a greedy hare in the dense forest. The hare was very proud of its speed and could run across the field as fast as he could. All the other animals in the forest agreed that the hare was the fastest.
One day the hare was making fun of a tortoise for being slow. The tortoise got angry at the hare for laughing, making fun of him, and challenged him for a race. The hare was amused at the idea of running with a tortoise but agreed for fun.
The next day the hare and tortoise began the race. All the animals in the forest came to watch the race. The fox, who agreed to act as a judge, marked the distance and started the race.
So, the hare ran very fast and very far. After some time, the hare stopped and looked back, but the tortoise ran very slow and was very far behind the hare. The hare started eating the grass, and after a while, he was bored. So, he thought of taking a power nap for a time.
The tortoise kept going slowly but steadily and, after a time, passed the place where the hare was sleeping. After a while, the animals got very excited as the tortoise got close to the finish line.
The crowd started cheering up the tortoise. The hare suddenly woke up and saw that the tortoise was near the finishing line of the race. The hare began running as fast as possible, but he couldn’t catch up to the tortoise as he was far behind this time.
The tortoise crossed the finish line and won the race. The hare was very disappointed to find out that the tortoise won the race.
Moral of the Hare and the Tortoise- Slow and steady wins the race.
The tortoise won the race because he was very determined and did not stop for a millisecond. The hare lost the race because he had taken his win for granted and was very overconfident about winning the race.
