# How Much Time Is Required To Become A Cuemath Teacher?

Go back to  'faq'

3 HOURS A WEEK IS ALL IT TAKES.
The minimum time commitment is 3 hours a week, one hour a day for 3 days a week. However, the  time commitment is entirely up to the teacher. We have teachers who spend up to 4 hours a day, 6 days a week – which is a time commitment of 24 hours a week (The normal office working week averages at 40 hours per week, not including travel times).

WHY IS THE MINIMUM COMMITMENT 3 HOURS A WEEK?
At Cuemath the maximum number of students in a batch is 6. And students come to class for 3 hours a week. Therefore if the teacher is teaching only one batch then the time commitment is 3 hours a week. In addition most teachers spend between 15-30 min preparing for a class before the batch begins. A few scenarios are illustrated below.

Cuemath students attend classes 3 times a week for an hour each (or sometimes twice a week for 1.5 hours each). For instance, here’s the schedule of Anupriya from Bangalore, who has 3 batches. They are scheduled over the same 3 days of the week.

‘I like to keep the remaining 4 days free for my family’ says Anupriya.
