Will Nearby Cuemath Centers Have A Negative Impact On The Growth Of My Learning Center?

Go back to  'faq'

No. What we find is that as the density of the teachers in a locality increases the awareness and word of mouth of Cuemath increases disproportionately. This results in faster not slower growth.

3 REASONS WHY HAVING OTHER TEACHERS AROUND IS GOOD FOR YOU

It is a legitimate concern and many teachers ask this question. Because the general perception is that more the centers the lower the growth. So it is a good question to ask.

HIGHER DENSITY OF CENTERS LEADS TO FASTER GROWTH

However we find that as we increase the number of teachers in a locality the visibility and word of mouth for Cuemath spreads. As the word of mouth spreads there is awareness of how Cuemath is different from other ways of learning. And the demand increases. In fact now with many teachers reaching 4-5 batches they themselves transfer students to nearby centers, so as to manage their centers better.

SEE FOR YOURSELVES HOW DENSITY OF CENTERS HELPS GROWTH

This concept of higher density leading to faster growth may seem counter-intuitive but here is the proof. In the pictures below we show you the Map of all our centers in Bangalore and you can see that areas with higher density grow faster.

As our teacher centers grew, the average students per teacher also grew. Higher density areas showed higher growth per teacher.

THERE IS A BIG UNFULFILLED NEED FOR MATH LEARNING

In India there are over 200 million school going children. The market demand for quality math education keeps on growing by the day. Take your city and estimate the number of school going children in the bracket of KG To 8 roughly 10% of the city population. And in India over 35% of children go to private schools and can afford after school classes. So if the population of your city is 10 million the market size is 3.5 Lakhs students and approximately 10000 centers will be needed to cater to this demand. Nationally we have 4000 centers and growing. So there is a huge market to be served.

CUEMATH CENTERS ARE A SYMBIOTIC NETWORK

The Cuemath centers are often collaborating with each other, sharing best practices and learning from each other. Often the “buddy teacher” helping a new teacher is a nearby teacher who is experienced and wants the new teachers to grow. This is because with time all teachers realize that the network of Cuemath teachers is a symbiotic network, where when we grow all of us win.

HOW HAVING NEARBY LEARNING CENTERS AFFECTS YOU AND YOUR GROWTH:

PROS OF HAVING NEARBY LEARNING CENTERS:

  • Higher word of mouth helps all
  • Share best practices
  • Get help from a Buddy teacher nearby

CONS OF HAVING NEARBY LEARNING CENTERS:

  • If learning outcomes are not delivered, parents can switch

WHY DOESN’T CUEMATH CREATE SOME FORM OF TERRITORY RULE TO HELP TEACHER PARTNERS?

First the legality of doing this is dubious.

Secondly as we are teaching young children parents are looking for centers which are within walking distance from home. Having a rule of 500 meters etc results in many parents being interested but finding the logistics of transportation to be bothersome. Especially in high rises with lot of flats, this approach does not work.

So, Cuemath agreement with all the teacher partner has a non-exclusivity clause. This means the teacher partners are not promised or offered any protected territory to operate in.

All applications from prospective teachers are processed with a teacher qualification framework and the most capable candidates will be on-boarded.

IN SUMMARY:

  • Having more centers in a locality increases word of mouth
  • Given that parents want the center to be ideally within walking distance, higher density leads to more students able to access Cuemath
  • Often the Buddy teachers helping you grow are near you
