AP Calculus BC Perfect Score: Saahith's Leap from AB to a 5

Saahith, Grade 12 AP Calculus BC perfect score of 5, Cuemath student
Saahith, Grade 12 AP Calculus BC, Score 5, Cuemath US

With one year of high school left, Saahith had nearly settled on the safe choice: AP Calculus AB, the gentler of the two calculus courses. Then his tutor asked him to reconsider.

He took the harder road, and it paid off. Saahith, a Grade 12 student in the US, scored a perfect 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam, the highest score possible, along with a 1480 on the SAT, including 770 in math. The tutor who nudged him toward BC, Ranjita Poddar, had spent months in weekly online math tutoring with Cuemath making sure he was ready for it.

Meet Saahith

  • Grade: 12
  • Country: US
  • Tutor: Ranjita Poddar
  • AP Calculus BC: 5 out of 5 (perfect score)
  • SAT: 1480 (770 in Math)

The choice between AB and BC is a real fork for a lot of strong math students. BC covers everything AB does and roughly a semester more of college calculus, at a faster pace. In a final year, when grades weigh most for college, choosing the heavier course is a genuine leap, and plenty of capable students play it safe with AB.

For Saahith, that pace was the real test. His BC class moved quickly through the syllabus, and the final unit on infinite series, widely considered the most demanding part of the course, was no exception. Keeping up was one thing, but the 5 he was aiming for meant understanding each idea deeply, not just in time for the exam. That is where his sessions with Ranjita made the difference.

"Saahith is a, very deciplined and hard working student. He is one of the students who really enjoyed cuemath. He completed every sheet very dedicatedly and also solved the previous years papers for both SAT and for Ap calculus BC. His achievements are the results of his hard work. I wish him a very successful life.

He is very close to my heart."

~ RANJITA PODDAR, CUEMATH TUTOR

Ranjita had taught Saahith long enough to know what he could handle, and she believed BC was within his reach. Once he chose it, she made sure the decision held up. Where his school raced through each topic, their Cuemath sessions slowed down and went deeper, giving the toughest unit the time it needed. She worked through his homework with him, set him previous years' exam papers to practice on, and stayed on a concept until it was solid rather than just covered.

"Ranjita maam is one of the best math teachers I’ve had, especially for Cuemath. She explains concepts very clearly and breaks them down in a way that is easy for me to understand. In my AP Calculus BC class, the pace is very fast and the material is challenging, so topics are often covered quickly. Ranjita maam teaches the same topics but goes into more depth, which helps me fully understand them.

I’m really happy I scored a 5 on the exam! I started prepping from the end of my junior year all the way up to exam day. Along the way, Ranjita ma’am helped me so much, especially with the last unit, which was the toughest one. While school moved through the material quickly, our Cuemath sessions gave us the time to really dive deep into each topic. If it wasn’t for her guidance, I definitely wouldn’t have gotten that 5. Thank you Cuemath!"

~ SAAHITH

AP Calculus BC is an introductory college-level course, covering about two semesters of university calculus in a single year, and the exam is scored from 1 to 5, with a 5, the highest, often enough to earn college credit at many universities. Its final unit, infinite series, is widely considered the most demanding part of the course. Saahith earned his 5, and he is not the only student Ranjita has guided to a perfect score on AP Calculus BC.

Saahith did more than clear a demanding course a year early. He learned to slow down on the hardest ideas and stay with them until they were fully his, even when the class kept moving. That habit of reaching for real understanding, and the confidence that comes from earning it, is what being MathFit is really about, a foundation that does not fade once the exam is over. It is what will shape how he takes on the next hard thing, and the one after that, in college and well beyond.
