Math GamesSoloBeam

Beam

SoloGrades 6–12

Bounce light off mirrors to light up every star.

About the Game

A coordinate grid is marked with axis numbers, and a fixed emitter shoots a beam of light in one direction. You have a limited number of mirrors to place — each with a choice of angle — and must drag them onto grid cells so the beam, after every mirror is placed, threads through every star on the board. Press Fire to test your setup; 12 levels raise the star count and lower your mirror budget.

What Your Child Practices

Fluency

Reading and tracking coordinate positions on a grid.

Understanding

How a mirror's angle changes the direction a beam of light travels — the geometry of reflection made visible.

Application

The same threading task repeats across 12 levels with more stars and fewer mirrors to work with.

Reasoning

Planning the full path in advance, since every mirror placement has to work together with a limited budget.
