Stepping Stones

SoloGrades K–2

Count the hops to reach your friend.

About the Game

Your character sits on one side of a body of water, with a friend waiting on the other, connected by a path of stepping stones. A stepper control lets you set how many hops you think it'll take to cross — increase or decrease the number, then press Go to try it. 12 levels vary the distance and hop size.

What Your Child Practices

Fluency

Quick estimation and counting of a fixed distance measured in equal hops.

Understanding

A fixed distance can be measured in equal-sized steps — the foundation for number-line reasoning and later skip-counting or division.

Application

The same estimate-then-test loop repeats across 12 levels of increasing hop distances.

Reasoning

Visually estimating scale before committing to a specific number of hops.
