55 percent of calories should come from carbohydrates. There are 4 calories in each gram of carbohydrates.
15 percent of your calories should come from proteins. There are 4 calories in each gram of proteins.
30 percent of your calories may come from fats. There are 9 calories in each gram of fat. Following is an example to design your own healthy diet.
Answer the Given Questions
Your ideal desired weight is __________ kg.
The quantity of calories you need to eat is _______.
The quantity of protein needed is ________ g.
The quantity of fat required is ___________ g.
The quantity of carbohydrates required is __________ g.
Solution:
The table represents the ideal height and weight proportion.
Consider a women with height 5’2”
1. Ideal weight = 50 kg.
2. An active person should eat around 55.11 calories for each kilogram desired weight.
The number of calories needed = 50 × 55.11 = 2755.5 calories
3. We know that 55 percent of calories should come from carbohydrates. Calories that should come from carbohydrates = 2755.5 × 0.55 = 1515.525 calories.
We know that there are 4 calories in each gram of carbohydrates.
Therefore, required quantity of carbohydrates = 1515.525/4 =378.88g = 379 g. (approx).
4. We know that 15 percent of your calories should come from proteins.
Calories that should come from proteins = 2755.5 × 0.15 = 413.325 calories.
We know that there are 4 calories in each gram of proteins
Therefore, required quantity of protein = 413.325/4 g = 103.33 g.
5. We know that 30 percent of your calories may come from fats.
Calories that may come from fat = 2755.5 × 0.3 = 826.65 calories.
We know that there are 9 calories in each gram of fat.
Therefore, required quantity of fat = 826.65/9 g = 91.85 g.
