# Find the 20^{th} and n^{th} terms of the G.P 5/2, 5/4, 5/8 ....

**Solution:**

The given G.P. is

5/2, 5/4, 5/8 ....

Hence, a = 5/2 and r = (5/4)/(5/2)

= 1/2

Therefore,

a_{20} = ar^{20 - 1} = 5/2 (1/2)^{19} = 5/[(2) (2)^{19}]

= 5/(2)^{20}

a_{n} = ar^{n - 1} = 5/2 (1/2)^{n - 1} = 5/[(2) (2)^{n - 1}]

= 5/(2)^{n}
