# Study the double bar graph given below and answer the questions that follow:

(a) What information does the above double graph depict?

(b) Name the fruits for which the cost of 1 kg is greater in City I as compared to City II.

(c) What is the difference of rates for apples in both the cities?

(d) Find the ratio of the cost of mangoes per kg in City I to the cost of mangoes per kg in City II.

**Solution:**

Given, the figure represents a double __bar graph__.

(a) We have to determine the information depicted by the graph.

The double graph depicts the cost of different fruits per kg in City I and CIty II.

(b) We have to determine the fruits for which the cost of 1 kg is greater in City I as compared to City II.

From the graph,

The cost of 1 kg fruits in City I is greater than City II for Apple, Banana, Mango and Cherry.

(c) We have to find the difference of rates for apples in both the cities.

Cost of 1 kg apple in City I = ₹82

Cost of 1 kg apple in City II = ₹75

Difference of rate = 82 - 75

= ₹7

Therefore, the difference of rates for apples in both the cities is ₹7.

(d) We have to find the __ratio__ of the cost of mangoes per kg in City I to the cost of mangoes per kg in City II.

Cost of mangoes per kg in City I = ₹75

Cost of mangoes per kg in City II = ₹60

Ratio = 75 : 60

= 15 : 12

= 5 : 4

Therefore, the required ratio is 5 : 4
