**Solution:**

We will be using the area of the rectangle formula (length × breadth) to find the area of a room and the area of square formula ( side^{2}) to find the area of the carpet.

We have,

- A floor with dimensions 4 m width and 5 m length.
- A square carpet of side 3 m.

Area of the floor = length × breath

Area of the floor = 5 × 4

= 20 m^{2}

Area of the square carpet = 3 × 3

= 9 m^{2}

Now, we will be subtracting the square carpet area from the floor's area to get the area of the floor that is not carpeted.

Hence, the area of the floor that is not carpeted = 20 – 9

= 11 m^{2}

Thus, the area of the floor that is not carpeted is 11 m^{2}.
