# The number which best completes the sequence below is: 1, 1, 3, 2, 4, 6, 5, 25,…?

**Solution:**

Given sequence 1, 1, 3, 2, 4, 6, 5, 25,…

We can write the given sequence as 1, 1^{2}, 3, 2, 2^{2}, 6, 5, 5^{2}

The third term is ‘2’ added to the first term

Similarly, the 6^{th} term is ‘2’ added to the 4th term

We can also see a pattern between the 4^{th} term and 5th term and also between the 6^{th} term and 7th term, the difference is the same ‘-1’

Hence, the pattern is ‘squared’ then ‘ added 2 to that square ‘ and

then ‘subtracted 1 from the previous term’

So, we need to add 2 to 5^{2}, we get next term as 25 + 2 = 27

Hence, the number 27 best completes the sequence

## The number which best completes the sequence below is: 1, 1, 3, 2, 4, 6, 5, 25,…?

**Summary:**

The number 27 completes the sequence 1, 1, 3, 2, 4, 6, 5, 25,…
