Solution:
Let the original amount be Rs. 100
Increase of 20% will yield an amount = 1.20 × 100 = Rs. 120
If the new amount is decreased by 20% it will yield = Rs. 0.80 × 120 = Rs. 96
The original amount was = Rs. 100
Hence the final amount is less than the original amount
