If ∆ ABC ≅ ∆ PQR and ∆ ABC is not congruent to ∆ RPQ, then which of the following is not true:
a. BC = PQ
b. AC = PR
c. QR = BC
d. AB = PQ
Solution:
It is given that
∆ ABC ≅ ∆ PQR
As corresponding sides are equal
AB = PQ
AC = PR
BC = QR
So BC = PQ is not true for the triangles.
Therefore, BC = PQ is not true.
✦ Try This: If ∆ PQR ≅ ∆ XYZ and ∆ PQR is not congruent to ∆ ZYX, then which of the following is not true: a. QR = XY, b. PR = XZ, c. YZ = QR, d. PQ = XY
It is given that
∆ PQR ≅ ∆ XYZ
As corresponding sides are equal
PQ = XY
PR = XZ
QR = YZ
So QR = XY is not true for the triangles.
Therefore, QR = XY is not true.
