Solution:
Given, OB is perpendicular to OA
Also, ∠BOC = 49°
We have to find the measure of ∠AOD.
We know that the sum of a linear pair of angles is always equal to 180 degrees.
So, ∠DOB + ∠BOC = 180°
From the figure,
49° + ∠DOB = 180°
∠DOB = 180° - 49°
∠DOB = 131°
We know that the sum of all angles around a point is equal to 360 degrees.
∠DOB + ∠BOA + ∠AOD = 360°
131° + 90° + ∠AOD = 360°
221° + ∠AOD = 360°
∠AOD = 360° - 221°
Therefore, ∠AOD = 139°
