Solve the equation. - 9x + 1 = - x + 17
x = -8, x = -2, x = 2, x = 8
Solution:
Linear equations are nothing but yet another subset of "equations".
Any linear calculations requiring more than one variable can be done with the help of linear equations.
The standard form of a linear equation in one variable is of the form ax + b = 0.
Here, x is a variable, and a and b are constants.
Given Equation is :
-9x + 1 = -x + 17
Move all the terms containing x to L.H.S and the constant terms to R.H.S
- 9x + x = 17 - 1
-8x = 16
x = 16 / -8
= - 2
Hence, value of x is -2.
Solve the equation. -9x + 1 = -x + 17
Summary:
Solution of the equation -9x + 1 = -x + 17 is x = -2 . The standard form of a linear equation in one variable is of the form ax + b = 0.
