# Circumference of a circle of diameter 5 cm is

(a) 3.14 cm

(b) 31.4 cm

(c) 15.7 cm

(d) 1.57 cm

**Solution:**

Given, diameter of circle = 5 cm

We have to find the circumference of a circle

Radius, r = 5/2 cm

Circumference of circle = 2πr

Where, r is the radius of circle

= 2 × 22/7 × 5/2

= 22(5)/7

= 110/7

= 15.7 cm

Therefore, the circumference of the circle is 15.7 cm

**✦ Try This: **Circumference of a circle of diameter 7 cm is

Given, diameter of circle = 5 cm

We have to find the circumference of a circle

Radius, r = 7/2 cm

Circumference of circle = 2πr

Where, r is the radius of circle

= 2 × 22/7 × 7/2

= 22(7)/7

= 22 cm

Therefore, the circumference of circle is 22 cm
