# Find the perimeter of the figure given below

**Solution:**

The given figure represents a rectangle

We have to find the perimeter of the given rectangle.

Length = 5x - y

Breadth = 2(x + y) = 2x + 2y

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Length + breadth = 5x - y + 2x + 2y

By combining like terms,

= 5x + 2x - y + 2y

= (5 + 2)x + (-1 + 2)y

= (7)x + (1)y

= 7x + y

Perimeter = 2(7x + y)

= 14x + 2y units

Therefore, the required perimeter is 14x + 2y units.
