# Solve the following equation and check your result: 5t - 3 = 3t - 5

**Solution:**

A mathematical equation that represents the relationship between two expressions on either side of the equal sign (=) is a Simple Equation. An equation consists of variables and numerical constants.

5t - 3 = 3t - 5

Subtracting 3t from both sides,

⇒ 5t - 3 - 3t = 3t - 3t - 5

⇒ 2t - 3 = -5

Simplifying further,

⇒ 2t = - 5 + 3

⇒ t = - 2/2

⇒ t = - 1

Therefore, the value of t = - 1
