How do you find the mode of a data set?
The mode is one of the most frequently used metrics in statistics.
Answer: Mode is the value that appears most frequently in a data set. A set of data may have one mode, more than one mode, or no mode at all.
Let us see an example to understand this better.
Let us try to find the mode of the data set: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 3, 3, 4, 2, 7, 4, 4, 5, 4, 1
As we can see the number 4 occurs 5 times which is more than any of the other numbers.
Note that if no number in a set of numbers occurs more than once, that set is said to have no mode like for the data set: 2, 7, 9, 11, 5, 6, 8
Hence, mode is the value that appears most frequently in a data set.
