How to find the area and perimeter of a square
A square has 4 sides of similar length which are at right angles to each other.
Answer: The area of a square is equal to the square of the length of its side and the perimeter of the square is 4 times the length of its side.
Let the length of the side of a square be 'a' units.
The area of the square = a² square units
The perimeter of the square = 4a units
Hence, the area of the square is equal to the square of the side length and the perimeter of the square is 4 times the length of its side.
