A scooter was bought at ₹ 42,000. Its value depreciated at the rate of 8% per annum. Find its value after one year
Solution:
Original value of the scooter = ₹ 42,000
Rate of depreciation = 8%
The value of the scooter after 1 year = 42000 - [42000 × (8/100)]
= 42000 - [42000 × (2/25)]
= 42000 - (1680 × 2)
= 42000 - 3360
= 38640
Thus, the value of the scooter after 1 year is ₹ 38640.
