# Median of the following numbers : 4, 4, 5, 7, 6, 7, 7, 12, 3 is

a. 4

b. 5

c. 6

d. 7

**Solution:**

Let us arrange the given numbers in ascending order

3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 7 and 12

n = 9

As n here is odd, formula for median is

Median = [(n + 1)/2]th observation

Substituting the value

Median = [(9 + 1)/2]th observation

Median =(10/2)th observation

So we get

Median = 5th observation

Median = 6

Therefore, the median is 6.
