Celsius to Kelvin Formula
Celsius and Kelvin are two different units of temperature, and in this minilesson, we will talk about the Celsius to Kelvin formula. Celsium scale was invented by Anders Celsius and the temperature in Celsius is represented in °C. Kelvin scale was invented by Lord Kelvin and the temperature in Kelvin is represented in K. Let's move ahead and check out the Celsius to Kelvin formula.
What Is Celsius to Kelvin Formula?
To convert Celsius into Kelvin, we just add 273.15. Thus, the formula for Celsius to Kelvin is:
T (K) = T (°C) + 273.15.
Here,
T(°C) = Temperature in Celsius
T (K) = Temperature in Kelvin

Example 1
Convert 15°C into Kelvin.
Solution:
To find: 15°C into Kelvin.
T(°C) = 15°C (Given)
T(K) =?
By using the Celsius to Kelvin formula,
T (K) = T (°C) + 273.15
T (K) = 15 + 273.15 = 288.15 K
Answer: 15°C = 288.15 K.

Example 2
We know that the boiling point of water is 100°C. Can you convert it into Kelvin?
Solution:
To find: The boiling point of water (100°C) into Kelvin.
T(°C) = 100°C.
T(K) = ?
By using the Celsius to Kelvin formula,
T (K) = T (°C) + 273.15
T (k) = 100 + 273.15 = 373.15 K
Answer: The boiling point of water (100°C) = 373.15 K.
