240 ÷ (-840). Write the following as rational numbers in their standard forms
Solution:
It is given that
240 ÷ (-840)
We can write it as
240 ÷ (-840) = 240/ (-840)
HCF of 240 and 840 is 120
Dividing both numerator and denominator with HCF
(240 ÷ 120)/ (-840 ÷ 120) = 2/-7
Multiplying both numerator and denominator by -1
= [2 × -1]/[-7 × -1]
= -2/7
Therefore, the standard form is -2/7.
