Expressing 13 as a sum of two __perfect square__ numbers.

13 = (2)² + (3)²

4 + 9 = 13

Lets draw the number line

Consider OA = 3 units

Now draw BA __perpendicular__ to OA

Let BA = 2 units

Now join OB.

Using a compass with centre O and radius OB drawn an arc that intersects the number line at the point P.

Now, P = √13

OB² = OA² + AB²

OB² = (3)² + (2)²

OB² = 9 + 4

OB² = 13

Taking __square root__,

Therefore, OB = √13
