# Solve the following equation and check your result: 2x/3 + 1 = 7x/15 + 3

**Solution:**

A mathematical equation that represents the relationship between two expressions on either side of the equal sign (=) is a Simple Equation. An equation consists of variables and numerical constants.

2x/3 + 1 = 7x/15 + 3

⇒ 2x/3 - 7x/15 = 3 - 1

⇒ (10x - 7x) / 15 = 2

By Cross-multiplying we get,

⇒ 3x = 30

Therefore, the value of x = 10
