Solved Example 1:

Find the value of 2/3 + 4/5

Solution:

The LCM of 3 and 5 is 15

So, 2/3 can be rewritten as 10/15, and 4/5 can be rewritten as 12/15

Adding the two fractions,

10/15 + 12/15 = (10+12)/15

= 22/15

= \(1\dfrac{7}{15}\)
