**Solution:**

A fruit seller purchased 20 kg of apples at ₹50 per kg. Out of these, 5% of the apples were found to be rotten. If he sells the remaining apples at ₹60 per kg, then his _________is _________%.

We have to fill in the blanks to make the statement true.

According to the question,

__CP__ of 1kg apples = ₹50

CP of 20 kg apples = 50 × 20 = ₹1000

5% of 20 kg = (5/100) × 20

= (1/20) × 20

= 1 kg

Remaining apples = 20 - 1 = 19 kg

__SP__ of 19 kg apples = 60 × 19 = ₹1140

Since CP < SP, it is __profit__

We know, Profit = SP - CP

= 1140 - 1000

Profit = ₹140

We know, profit% = Profit/CP × 100

= 140/1000 × 100

= 140/10

= 14%

Therefore, the profit is 14%
