Mode for ungrouped data is found by selecting the most frequent item on the list. To find the mode for a given set of values, follow the steps given below:

**Step 1**: Write the values of the data set for which you need to find the mode.**Step 2:**Check for the values which are repeating.**Step 3:**Check for the value which is occurring most frequently. This value is the mode for the given dataset.

**Example 1:**

Find the mode for the following set of data: {14,15,16,15,17,15,18}

**Solution:**

Since there is only one value repeating itself, it is a unimodal list.

Therefore, Mode = {15}

Similarly,

For the bimodal list: {85,86,88,88,91,90,86,92,95}, mode = {86, 88}

For the data set: {7,7,8,8,8,9,10,12,12,14,15}, mode = {8}

**Example 2:**

Find the mode for the following set of data: {1,7,14,12,8,6,1}

**Solution:**

Since there is only one value repeating itself, it is a unimodal list.

Therefore, Mode = {1}

**Example 3:**

Find the mode for the following set of data: {12,1,21,12,24,18,21}

**Solution:**

Since there are two value repeating itself, it is a bimodal list.

Therefore, Mode = {12, 21}
