Square Calculator
A square is defined as a closed twodimensional figure with four sides and four corners. The length of all four sides is equal and parallel to each other.
What is Square Calculator?
'Cuemath's Square Calculator' is an online tool that helps to calculate the value of the area, perimeter, and diagonal of the square for a given side. Cuemath's Square Calculator helps you to calculate the value of the area, perimeter, and diagonal of the square within a few seconds.

How to Find Area, Perimeter and Diagonal of Square?
The area of a square is the area occupied by the boundary of a square. It can also be defined as the number of squares used to cover up a square. The formula to calculate the area of a square is given by
Area of the square = side^{2} or (side x side) square units.
The perimeter of a square is defined as the total length of all four sides of a square. Hence we can find the perimeter by adding all four sides of a square. As all sides of a square are equal, the perimeter of a square is side+side+side+side.
Perimeter of a square = (4 × side) units
Diagonal of a square: In a square, the lengths of both the diagonals are the same. The length of a diagonal, d of a square of side length 'x' is calculated by the Pythagoras theorem.
Diagonal of a square = √2 × side units
Solved Examples on Square Calculator

Example1:
Find the area of a square whose side length is 7 units.
Solution:
Given: Side length = 7
The formula for the area of a square is:
Area = side^{2}
= 7^{2}
= 49 square units

Example2:
Find the perimeter of a square whose side is 5 units.
Solution:
Perimeter of a square = 4 × side units
= 4 × 5
= 20 units.

Example3:
Find the diagonal of a square whose side is 5 units.
Solution:
Diagonal of a square = √2 × side units
=√2 × 5
= 7.07 units.
Similarly, now you can use the calculator to find the area, perimeter, and diagonal of a square for the following:
 Side length = 8 units
 Side length = 15 units
